MARVELLOUS Markets returns to Bournemouth this weekend to help “animate the high street”.

Having started yesterday, the market continues today with a selection of stalls and entertainment on offer at Beale Place.

The market, supported by Bournemouth Town Centre BID, is open now and will run until 5pm this evening, with a salsa party to be held from 3pm.

Organiser Suzy Wheeler said: “Our mission is to animate the high street.

“It is a lovely way to support traders as well as businesses already on the high street.

“A big feature is the entertainment, so we usually have the Bournemouth Concert Brass Band playing at our events, and we also have a salsa party to get people up and moving and dancing in the street.”

The markets are held every month and are rotated around the Bournemouth and Poole area.

The next Marvellous Market will be held at Falkland Square in Poole on Sunday August 22, with the next weekend market returning to Bournemouth on September 11 and 12 at Horseshoe Common.

Suzy added: “Today there is the bigger market which goes all the way down to the Square, but the Marvellous Market is just in Beale Place.

“We encourage people to browse the local shops, cafes and restaurants as well.

“There is a variety of food and non-food stalls, and it is a lovely way to get back to the high street.”
