FIREFIGHTERS were called to the Poole yesterday evening after a fire broke out on the Alder Hills Nature Reserve.
Three fire crews attended the incident on Alder Road, which was reported at 8.30pm on Saturday August 14.
An area of heathland was found to be “alight” and crew put out the fire with the use of aqua packs.
A spokesman from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Westbourne, Redhill Park and Poole attended Alder Hills Nature Reserve after callers reported a fire involving the heath.
“A small area of heath was found alight and the crew were able to quickly extinguish the fire using aqua packs.”
