ONE person was treated for burns following a fire at a property in Poole on Monday night that saw nine residents and a dog rescued.
The fire broke out in a kitchen at the property in Ashley Road, Parkstone.
Fire crews from Westbourne, Redhill Park, Poole, Springbourne and Ferndown attended the blaze at 4.58pm.
A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire was found to be in the kitchen of a first floor flat.
“One man was rescued and left in the care of ambulance crews whilst neighbouring flats were evacuated using smoke hoods.”
The fire was extinguished by six breathing apparatus wearers using main lines and hose reel jets.
Dorset Police was also requested to attend the incident by the fire service 5.10pm.
A spokesperson said: “Officers attended and assisted with traffic control as the fire service dealt with the incident.
“It was reported that one person was treated for burns and their condition was not believed to be serious.
Officers and firefighters left the scene at around 6.15pm.
