A LIFEBOAT crew came to the aid of a man who suffered a suspected broken ankle on Brownsea Island.
Poole RNLI were called to the medical evacuation just before 6pm on Sunday, August 8.
The lifeboat volunteers located a man who had injured himself while visiting the Brownsea Castle Hotel
A couple of the crew went ashore to check he was okay and prepared him to be transferred off the island.
After further investigation, the crew requested that the ambulance that was standing by at the lifeboat station relocate to the North Haven steps by the chain ferry as it would be a smoother and short passage from Brownsea for the casualty.
The crew transferred the casualty from the island to the care of the South Western Ambulance Service for further treatment.
