AN INTERACTIVE MAP shows how coronavirus cases are still rising in areas of Dorset - with Weymouth town centre seeing a spike in cases.
An interactive map, which uses Public Health England data, shows how many people have tested positive for the virus in each area of the county over the seven-day period up to Saturday, July 31.
Public Health England breaks down the numbers of coronavirus cases into neighbourhoods called 'Middle Super Output Areas' (MSOAs), which are smaller than council wards and based on population rather than geographical area.
The interactive map, which can be found through this link, allows users to type in their postcode and see how many cases were reported in their area and if it has increased or decreased from the week before. The darker the colour on the image, the more positive test results have been recorded.

The map highlights which areas of the county have three or more confirmed cases of the virus and colour co-coordinates the areas by how many cases they have.
In the seven days up to Saturday, July 31, Dorset reported 3,096 cases. BCP Council area reported 2,025 cases while Dorset Council area reported 1,071 cases.
The following 10 areas have the highest number of active coronavirus cases:
- Central Bournemouth - 97 cases (up by 53)
- East Cliff - 83 cases (up by 15)
- Winton - 81 cases (up by 17)
- Weymouth Town, Melcombe Regis & Rodwell - 76 cases (up by 41)
- Newtown - 71 cases (up by 23)
- Charminster (BCP) - 70 cases (up by 17)
- Springbourne & Queen's Park - 66 cases (up by 9)
- Corfe Mullen - 62 cases (up by 25)
- Throop & Muscliffe - 60 cases (down by 2)
- East Howe & Ensbury Park - 57 cases (up by 18)
The following 10 areas have the lowest number of active coronavirus cases:
- Child Okeford & Iwerne Minster - 10 cases (no change)
- Corfe Castle & Langton Matravers - 10 cases (up by 3)
- Sherborne - 10 cases (down by 9)
- Beaminster, Maiden Newton & Halstock - 11 cases (up by 2)
- Gillingham - 11 cases (up by 1)
- Milborne, Winterborne & Okeford Fitzpaine - 11 cases (down by 12)
- Bere Regis & Lytchett Matravers - 12 cases (down by 9)
- Burton Bradstock & Chideock - 12 cases (no change)
- Bovington, Wool & Lulworth - 13 cases (down by 2)
- Yetminster, Bradford Abbas & Longburton - 13 cases (up by 3)
