A ROAD will be closed for the entirety of September while Wessex Water relay a storm water sewer.

Fernlea Avenue will close on August 31 to all vehicles and not reopen until October 1.

A public notice from Dorset Council said: “All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Fernlea Avenue from the junction with with Fernlea Gardens to outside 19 Fernlea Avenue.

“This order will enable Wessex Water safe access to relay a storm water sewer and enlarge chambers.

“An alternative vehicular route will be sign posted and will go via Fernlea Gardens, Dudsbury Avenue, Fernlea Close and vice versa.”

The notice said the order could remain in force for 18 months but works are anticipated to finish on October 1.
