FANCY a trip to Lapland to see St. Nicholas himself this year? If so you’re in luck after a travel agent announced a Santa experience day trip flying from Bournemouth this winter.

It may be the middle of summer and even thinking about Christmas may seem a distant concept, but the opportunity to guarantee your place to see Santa Clause in the arctic circle is here.

The one and only flight from Bournemouth departs to Pajala in the remote heart of Swedish Lapland, a landscape full of snowy forests, in early December from £549pp.

Newmarket Holidays are the travel agent behind the experience and CEO Niel Alobaidi says he is excited to offer the trip once again.

In a statement to the Echo he said: “We have been running our Lapland Santa experience day trip for almost 10 years and this year we are more excited than ever to give families all over the UK a really special Christmas to treasure forever.”

Mr. Alobaidi said travellers can experience a host of traditional Lapland experiences such as a reindeer-drawn sleigh ride, a husky sled through the snowy countryside, an exhilarating snowmobile ride as well as a special family meeting with Father Christmas.

The price also includes the exclusive flights on the specially chartered flight into Pajala, transfers’, an inflight meal, thermal clothing, hot berry juice, a token gift and a two course lunch of soup and Swedish meatballs; with veggie options available.

Speaking with the Echo Mr. Alobaidi also said: “As a father I know just how much parents, children and grandparents alike treasure these sorts of experiences in their memories forever.

“The travel industry has had so much to contend with in the past 18 months and we are determined to give families a Christmas in 2021 like no other.”

Mr. Alobaidi revealed that as restrictions ease the company is seeing an up-take in demand.

Bournemouth’s one and only experience takes to the skies on December 12 at 06.45 am and touches down in Sweden at 11.10 am.

Return flights will then leave Pajala at 18.30 the same day, which lands back South Coast soil at 21.55 - a total travel time of ten minutes shy of eight hours.
