Two beauty spots have been dubbed 'hidden gems' for tourists to visit this summer - with one abandoned village predicted to be 'busy'.
History Hit has rounded up England’s top 10 hidden gems to visit as people opt to yet again have a staycation and explore the country.
Their list also highlights how much they’ve been searched for online which could reveal the potentially quietest to visit this summer.
The list includes two sites in Dorset, namely Tyneham Village near Lulworth and Cloud's Hill in Bovington.
Cloud’s Hill is an isolated idyllic cottage and is known as the former home of T. E. Lawrence. The cottage has been owned by the National Trust since 1936 and is open for the public between 11am and 5pm every day, remaining largely as it did when T. E. Lawrence lived there.
History Hit's research suggests that due to 6,600 searches about Tyneham Village, this could be a popular site to visit this summer.
The village and surrounding hamlets were cleared before Christmas 1943 to allow Allied forces to prepare for the D-Day landings.
Despite the promises of Winston Churchill, the residents never returned to the village and surrounding areas.
Since then, Tyneham village has been the source of fascination for several decades and has become a popular tourist spot.
