A MAN rode across the green of a golf course on an electric scooter, became verbally abusive to the players before snatching a club and damaging it beyond repair.

Police are investigating the public order incident which occurred at Queens Park Golf Course in Bournemouth on Thursday, July 22.

At around 2pm, a man approached a group of female golfers and rode across the green on an electric bicycle.

When they asked him politely to move off the green, he became verbally abusive toward the group.

He then approached an individual from the group, snatched her golf club and damaged it beyond repair.

Officers attended and carried out a search for the offender, but he was not located.

An image of the suspect has now been released and police are appealing for witnesses.

Police Constable Ted Carlton, of Bournemouth police, said: “As part of our enquiries we have obtained an image of the suspect and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact Dorset Police.”
