POLICE are investigating after thieves stole two bicycles from the roof of a vehicle at a Dorset caravan park.

Officers investigating the theft, which took place at a caravan park in Purbeck, are issuing an image of the stolen bikes and appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Between the evening of Saturday July 24 and 8.30am on Sunday July 25 two bikes that were locked with a cable to a roof rack on top of a vehicle were stolen from Hunters Moon Caravan Park.

Two Trek Roscoe 8 mountain bikes were stolen. One is described as matte black with orange and red writing and the second is described as blue with white writing.

Police Constable Phillip Pearson, of Purbeck police, said: “As part of my enquiries I am issuing an image of the two stolen bikes in a bid to locate them.

“I would urge anyone who has seen the bikes for sale locally in unusual circumstances to please get in touch.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who was staying in the park and saw or heard any suspicious activity during the relevant timeframe.”
