A MAN has appeared in court after stealing two emergency glass hammers at Poole Bus Station.

Wayne David Griffin, 36 and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to charges of theft and failing to surrender to custody when he appeared in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on July 19.

The court heard that Griffin stole the hammers, which belonged to Morebus and were valued at £32.30, from the transport hub in Kingland Road on May 9.

District Judge Stephen Nicholls fined the defendant £80 and ordered him to pay £32.30 compensation and £85 prosecution costs.

Griffin received no separate penalty for the bail offence after he did not attend court on July 16.
