A HIGH-end delicatessen is to open its doors in Poole, having taken inspiration from Harrods and Selfridges.

Nicholas James Delicatessen will officially open on Tuesday, July 27 on Station Road, Ashley Cross. The deli will replace Isabel’s Restaurant, which closed in January after more than 40 years of trading.

The deli’s manager Pierre Van Wyk told the Daily Echo that the Ashley Cross store would hopefully be the first of many, and that they couldn’t wait to begin trading.

He said: “This is a high-end and high-quality delicatessen with lots of local produce that we’re sure people will enjoy. We will be selling products that you won’t find anywhere other than the likes of Harrods and Selfridges.

“We have great suppliers for products like steak, pork and chicken, a really strong range of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as a fish display and a patisserie counter.”

Keeping with the theme of luxury, the deli will also sell fine wines and spirits along with cigars.

The deli has also partnered with the Wimborne based brewery Eight Arch to stock their locally produced beers.

Pierre added: “Our products are well priced considering their quality, but we would consider this a one stop at a time store, perfect for treating yourself and others.

“We are expecting great things with what we do and have a few new ideas in the pipeline for our deli.”
