POLICE, fire and coastguard rushed to the seafront area of Bournemouth following reports a man had fallen down the cliff.
The emergency service teams were called to East Overcliff Drive at around 4.30am on Tuesday.
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 4.25am on July 20 to a report that a man had fallen down the cliff at East Overcliff Drive in Bournemouth.
"Officers attended with the fire service. The man climbed back to safety at around 5am. He did not require medical treatment."
The fire service sent crews from Christchurch and Westbourne along with the aerial ladder platform from Westbourne.
Coastguard teams from Southbourne and Lymington were also called to the scene, but stood down before they arrived as the incident had been dealt with.
