THE BIG screen will return to Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens this summer to show a range of Olympic sporting events and family-friendly films.

The Festival Coast Live! cinema screen, which recently showed Wimbledon in the Lower Gardens, is part of BCP Council’s summer long outdoor entertainment programme, taking place over a number of locations across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Councillor Beverley Dunlop, Leader of FCL!, said: “The screen, owned by BCP Council, will be providing open air entertainment where residents and visitors can gather responsibly to watch a great lineup of entertainment this summer, including a wide range of family friendly movies and music concerts.

“We recently aired Wimbledon, which provided an ambient atmosphere with very little management, and are now in the final stages of programming the entertainment package and location scheduling of the screen ready for the summer holidays.

“Given the time difference and programming schedule we are building we are also looking at the sequencing and scheduling of the Olympics and Paralympics to identify what we could also broadcast.”

The council has not yet confirmed which films or Olympic sporting events will be shown on the screen.
