Hundreds came together to put one foot in front of the other for good causes.
People of all ages stepped out for charity along Bournemouth seafront and the Lower Gardens for the Daily Echo-backed Save the Children Strollerthon on July 15, 2001.
More than 300 sure-footed fund-raisers took part, choosing to walk a variety of distances which ranged from 6 miles for the fit and eager, to 1.5 miles for the young and not-so-energetic.
Accompanying the walkers in their feet-aching endeavours were the Bournemouth Scout Band and the Quarterjack Youth Marching Band.
Cash raised from the family event went to Save the Children and disabled children's charity Dorset Under Eights Together helping children both locally and globally.
