MOTORISTS have been warned about the possible difficulties they may face travelling around Dorset this weekend, as temperatures are set to soar.

Dorset Police has warned residents and visitors that car parks and beauty spots are expected to be extremely busy this weekend, and to urge drivers to be patient with each other.

Temperatures are expected to reach up to 28 degrees celcius in parts of the county in the next two days, and police officers are anticipating a surge in tourists coming to visit.

A spokesman for Dorset Traffic Cops said: "With hot sunny weather forecast for this weekend, the roads in and around Dorset, as well as coastal car parks and beauty spots are expected to be extremely busy and fill up quickly.

"Vehicle breakdowns and collisions only add to delays and some people may get frustrated with fellow motorists, so please be patient with one another. Many people will be visiting the county that do not know the area.

"The police, council and other partner agencies will do all we can to keep the roads of Dorset moving, but make sure you have enough fluids to keep the occupants of your car hydrated, especially in the event of delays."
