A POOLE fish and chip restaurant has reopened, following a temporary closure brought on by a Covid infection.
The Lakeside fish and chip restaurant on Lifeboat Quay was forced to close last week after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.
Owner Jason Leese, who had a "horrendous" bout of the virus last year, told the Daily Echo that the decision was made “to keep our team and customers safe”.
In the week since, the restaurant and store rooms have been disinfected by a fumigation specialist. In addition, all staff provided a Covid test and each produced a negative result.
The news, which was announced on the Lakeside's Facebook page, was well received by customers, one of whom commented: "Very responsible response in the circumstances, well done to you all."
The restaurant has also resumed its takeaway service.
