PATIENTS and visitors at Royal Bournemouth Hospital have been warned to expect disruption due to roadworks on site from today.

Four weeks of works near the front of the hospital site will be taking place from today, with a one-way system in place initially.

Edwin Davies, University Hospitals Dorset director of estates, said: “We apologise for any disruption caused by these essential roadworks, running over the next four weeks, and we are doing everything we can to make sure that any delays at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site are kept to a minimum.

“The work will be taking place on the road between the main hospital entrance roundabout and the roundabout outside the outpatient entrance which runs along the side of car park B. Car park B is dedicated for ‘blue badge’ holders where parking is free.

“During the initial phase we will be operating a one-way system, however, during the later phase a temporary traffic management system will be in place.

"If members of the public are visiting the hospital, we request that they leave extra time when arranging travel, or where possible to utilise public transport.”
