OFFICERS have renewed their appeal to track down a man they would like to speak with following a sexual assault in Bournemouth.

As reported, a young woman was approached by a man as she walked in Charminster Road at around 2.25am on Wednesday, July 7.

The man then walked with the victim along Heron Court Road and made several attempts to kiss her. The victim was subsequently sexually assaulted by the man at an address.

The offender was reportedly carrying a rucksack that had a speaker within it and was playing music. It is believed he may be eastern European.

Following an initial police appeal last week, detectives have issued further images of a man they would like to speak with as part of their investigation.

DI Simon Huxter, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and we are continuing to do all we can to support the victim.

“We have now obtained further images of a man we are keen to identify as part of our enquiries and I would again urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us. The images show him wearing a fairly distinctive backpack and what appears to be an AFC Bournemouth football top.

“I would also like to renew our plea for any motorists who were in the area at the relevant time with dashcams and residents with home CCTV systems or doorbell cameras in the vicinity to please check their footage for anything relevant.

“Local officers have been carrying out increased patrols in the area and can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns.”
