SEVEN walk-in sites around Dorset are offering doses of the Covid-19 vaccine as part of ‘Super Saturday’.

People who still require a dose of the vaccine can visit a number of walk-in clinics across Dorset on Saturday (July 10).

Bookings do not need to be made and people can simply just turn up to one of the sites. It is an open offer to everyone aged 18 or above.

Jabs will be given on a first come, first served basis. It’s aimed that those who have yet to have their first jab, or who have changed their mind and now want to take up the offer.

More than one million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have already been delivered in Dorset and health bosses are aiming even higher to protect local communities.

The sites include:

  • Day Lewis Pharmacy, Chickerell for Pfizer and Astra Zeneca first and second dose between 9.30am- 12.30pm and 2.30pm-5.30pm
  • Weymouth Community Hospital for first Pfizer dose between 9-12am
  • Bournemouth University, Bournemouth for first Pfizer dose between 10am-4.30pm
  • Poole Road Medical Centre, Westbourne for first Pfizer dose between 10am-2pm
  • Bryant Pharmacy, Poole for Astra Zeneca first and second dose
  •  Castle Lane Pharmacy, Bournemouth for Astra Zeneca first and second dose between 9am-2pm
  • Wallisdown Pharmacy, Poole for Astra Zeneca only first and second dose between 9am-1pm and 2pm-4pm

Dr Karen Kirkham, local Dorset GP, urged people to come forward and take up the offer.

She said: “We are making an appeal for everyone to accept the offer of this life-saving COVID-19 jab. Please do get your jab.

“We want to try to reach everyone so if you know someone who hasn’t been called or who has now changed their mind and wants the vaccine, please share the details of these walk-ins with friends, family and work colleagues and spread the word.

“As well as these walk-in clinics, there are many other opportunities across Dorset to get your vaccine. Getting vaccinated has been shown to dramatically reduce your chances of being hospitalised or dying from the disease.”
