AN INVESTIGATION has been launched over a hit-and-run crash in a Poole supermarket car park.

A woman aged in her 20s was walking through the car park of the Tesco Extra store in Fleetsbridge on the evening of Thursday, June 24.

At around 8pm she was involved in a collision with a silver vehicle, believed to be a Volkswagen Polo.

The collision was at low speed and the woman did not sustain any serious injuries. However, she did sustain an injury to her hand when she banged on the windscreen of the car to alert the driver.

The driver, described as a white woman aged in her early 20s, apologised but then drove off without leaving details.

A passenger was in the vehicle, who is described as a white man also aged in his early 20s.

Dorset Police issued an appeal on Wednesday, July 7, with investigating officers asking for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

PC Daniel Goodman, of Poole police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision or may have captured it on dashcam to contact us.

“I would also urge the driver involved to come forward so we can take your account.”
