CONCERNS that a person was stuck on a the seafront cliff in Bournemouth proved to be discarded bedding.
Coastguard were called to the scene at the East Cliff zig zag by the joint rescue coordination centre at around 11.15am on Tuesday, July 6.
The emergency service had received a report of a possible person in distress on the cliff.
A Southbourne Coastguard spokesperson said: "On arrival we met with first informant who pointed out what possibly could be a person wrapped up in something.
"We therefore sent two Coastguards for further investigation to the bottom of the cliff.
"However, it turned out to be just discarded bedding from an encampment on the cliff.
"False alarm with good intent. We then stood down and retuned to station."
