TWO former Parkstone Grammar pupils cycled from Lands' End to John O' Groats unaccompanied to raise money for Forest Holme Hospice.
University students Jemima Scroggie, 19, and Jenna Vincent, 20, set off from Lands' End on Monday, June 7 with an aim to arrive in Scotland in 16 days.
The pair cycled through sun, wind, and rain but kept their spirits high by eating chocolate cake for the duration of their journey.
However, disaster struck when Jenna's gear cable broke, but she was able to complete the last three days of the challenge, albeit with only two gears.
Undaunted, the girls continued their journey over many hills and dales, finally reaching John O' Groats on Tuesday, June 22, raising over £4,000 for the Poole hospice.
They said: "This charity is dear to our hearts, and it was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed it all."
Their bikes were put to one side for the journey home as they travveled by train, arriving at Parkstone Yacht Club after catching six trains.
