MORE than 150 coronavirus cases were recorded in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures show.

The government’s daily update revealed 160 cases were recorded across the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Sunday.

The BCP Council area recorded 113 new cases, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 27,681.

Meanwhile, the Dorset Council area recorded 47 new cases, taking its total to 12,889.

In the seven days leading up to June 29, the latest rolling seven-day period, 787 cases were confirmed in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 199.1 per 100,000 people.

The Dorset Council area’s rolling rate was 82.4 per 100,000 after 312 cases were confirmed in the same time frame.

Elsewhere, 55 new cases were recorded in the New Forest, taking the total to 6,675.

The rolling rate was 92.2 after 166 cases were confirmed in a week.
