SEVEN people from Bournemouth and Christchurch were sentenced throughout June by the courts for breaching coronavirus regulations.

All of the cases were heard at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court under the single justice procedure system.

A total of more than £7,700 in fines were dished out to the rule breakers by the bench.

Three of the cases related to attending an indoor gathering at one flat in November last year, when the country was in a one-month lockdown period, while the other four cases involved separate incidents.

Tia Amelia Burton, 18 and of Wimborne Road, Bournemouth, pleaded guilty to participating in an indoor gathering with two or more people at a ground floor flat in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, on November 20, 2020. She was fined £320 and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £85 costs.

Charlie Galsworthy-Hogg, 19 and of Malmesbury Park Road, Bournemouth, was convicted of attending the same flat. He was fined £750 and ordered to pay £75 surcharge and £85 costs.

Alicia Lynette Odell, 18 and of Canford Avenue, Bournemouth, was also convicted of attending a Christchurch Road indoor gathering. She received the same court bill as Galsworthy-Hoggs after the case against her was proved.

Simone Danielle Gent, 32 and of Hanlon Close, Bournemouth, was convicted of participating in a gathering consisting of two or more people at her home address on November 20, 2020. She was fined £1,760 and ordered to pay £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

Christopher Le, 25 and of Surrey Road, Bournemouth, admitted taking part in a gathering, which was indoors and consisted of two or more people, at his home address on December 19, 2020, when Bournemouth was in Tier 2 restrictions. He was fined £660 and ordered to pay £66 surcharge and £85 costs.

Halima Ahmed, 20 and of Bingham Road, Bournemouth, was found to have also taken part in a gathering which was indoors and consisted of two or more people when Tier 2 restrictions were in force. This offence was committed in Bournemouth on December 9, 2020. She was fined £1,760 and ordered to pay £176 surcharge and £85 costs.

It was proved that Alexander John Hawkins, 21 and of Brabazon Drive, Christchurch, participated in a gathering of two or more people at a flat in Hinton Road, Bournemouth, on December 31, 2020, when the area was in Tier 4 restrictions. He was fined £1,760 and ordered to pay £176 surcharge and £85 costs.
