TWO adults have had a "lucky escape" after a tree came down on a holiday home.
Firefighters were called at 5.11am this morning after a large tree fell onto the annex of a property on Salisbury Road, Burgate.
The two people inside at the time were trapped by the tree after it blocked the exit stairway.
Both of them were uninjured and crews from Fordingbridge used battery saws to cut away the tree and gain access.
The scene was then made safe and the firefighters left the area at 5.54am.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said on Twitter: "@Fordingbridge47 firefighters had an early morning call out to free the occupants of a property in Burgate after a fallen tree had blocked their exit!
"The HIWFRS crew used saws to cut the tree and release the occupants who were unharmed."
