South Western Railway
A NUMBER of rail services between Dorset and London Waterloo are being significantly delayed due to urgent
repairs to the railway between Winchester and Basingstoke.
Some Weymouth to Waterloo services have been delayed by up to three hours.
South Western Railway (SWR) says urgent repairs are required between Winchester and Basingstoke.
A SWR spokesman said: "Whilst this is carried out the line from Winchester to Basingstoke is blocked.
"The 'down' line remains open and is being used for trains in both directions however this does reduce the number of trains able to run."
SWR says that until further notice trains between Weymouth and Waterloo may be diverted via Havant and Guildford in both directions.
