A CHARITY is challenging young people across Dorset to turn off their phones for 24 hours to raise money for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The 24hr Tech Timeout challenge, organised by Young Lives vs Cancer, asks participants to withdraw phone, tablet and computer use to support children and young people with cancer.
Liz Blunt, Senior Fundraising Engagement Manager for Dorset said: “The first 24 hours after a young person receives a cancer diagnosis are really hard. We would love it if as many Dorset young people could show their support by giving up something they love just for 24 hours.
“This is a really hard challenge and hopefully one that is great for our mental health too.”
Anyone can participate and the charity is looking for as many local schools, colleges, universities and youth organisations to take part.
