A DONKEY foal has been killed in a hit and run incident in the New Forest.

New Forest Roads Awareness announced yesterday that there is a £5,000 reward for anyone who reports a hit and run driver after New Forest donkey Bracken was left without her foal on June 20.

The incident happened at around 8am on the B3054.

New Forest Roads Awareness say that at this time they do not know "how long this donkey foal suffered before he died".

In a post on Facebook, they said: "If you know who was driving this car, ask them to do the right thing and report now. If you think they will not do that, please report to Hants Police, Crimestoppers or us.

"There is an up to £5,000 reward for reporting a hit and run driver, following a conviction.

"They do happen, and this reward has been handed out to several last year. Please for the sake of the young commoner that owned that foal, do the right thing."
