I SOMETIMES read here of thefts of bikes worth thousands of pounds.
If you regularly cycle to commute to work or you are a professional sportsman then I can see why you might need a high performance bike. But if you are just cycling for fitness then isn’t it counter-intuitive to splash the cash for a bike that’s easier to pedal?
Far better to ride a cheap and/or old bike requiring more effort to pedal.
You would also then not need to cycle at high speed to obtain the equivalent workout.
Can a recreational cyclist please explain to me why spend so much money to have a bike that’s easier to pedal, but then end up getting less of a workout? Or have to go further and faster to achieve the same objective?
