A MEMBER of staff has tested positive for Covid-19 and colleagues have been asked to self isolate at Waitrose in Christchurch.
Waitrose says no staff members at their Bargates store have displayed any symptoms and the one positive result was highlighted in a lateral flow test.
A spokesman for the the supermarket told the Daily Echo: "We can confirm that one partner in our Christchurch shop has tested positive for Covid-19.
"We are staying in touch and wish them a speedy recovery.
"As a result of this, a small number of partners who have been identified as a close contact to the affected partner have been asked to self isolate, and we have a few partners self-isolating due to track and trace. These are unrelated to each other.
"We have followed all government guidance and we have robust hygiene measures in place.
"We are in contact with our local public health protection scheme and have taken all action necessary for the health and safety of our partners and customers."
