A PREGNANT cow and its unborn calf have been killed during a dog attack at a field in east Dorset.
Dorset Police, who are investigating, believe the attack took place between June 14-21 at the field behind the High Street in Shapwick.
The cow was a Jersey cow, 11-years-old and with calf.
A police spokesman said: "If you were walking in the area between these dates along the public footpath through these fields and witnessed a dog attacking the cows, please could you make contact with Dorset Police, either by 101 or online and quote occurrence 55210099217.
"Please be aware that you should keep your dog on a lead when passing through any field of livestock.
"Just because your dog has never worried livestock before, it doesn’t mean it will never do it."
