The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is urgently looking for volunteers to help stage next month’s Bournemouth Pier to Pier Swim.
Over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of July, around 4,000 people will be swimming the 1.4 miles between Bournemouth and Boscombe Pier to raise money for the BHF.
Volunteers are needed to help with the registration of swimmers, providing information to participants and spectators, as well helping to set-up and pack down the event.
Rhodri Thomas, Volunteering Manager for the BHF, said: “This is the BHF’s first big fundraising event in over a year and we’re really excited to be back.
“There will be training and support for everyone who wants to get involved and there will be a choice of roles and shifts. No previous experience is needed.
“This event is always really special. There is always a great atmosphere with a real buzz and energy from the swimmers and spectators.”
The pier to pier swim will take place between 2 - 5pm on Saturday and 10am – 1pm on Sunday.
Since it was first held in 1992, more than 33,000 people have taken part in the swim helping to raise more than £3.6m for research into heart disease.
Anyone interested in volunteering at this event should email eventsvolunteering@bhf.org.uk or call Rhodri Thomas on 07736 102993.
