IN LIGHT of the delta variant of Covid now spreading rapidly across the country and tripling cases of infection in BCP over the last two weeks.

I question why are the council going ahead with the closure of the BIC vaccination centre in favour of a cheerleading contest.

The BIC is one of the largest vaccination centres in the south of the county and can further help us out of these ongoing restrictions.

How can a cheerleading event be allowed to continue and set back the vaccination programme.

Is this purely down to a financial decision being prioritised over public safety and our return to normality?
