A VOLUNTEER group in Westbourne is looking for residents to help them with sprucing up the gardens of the Skerryvore memorial park.

Friends of Skerryvore, a group set up in September 2019, will be meeting for the first time on Saturday June 19 without the need to organise hourly rotas to comply with the rule of six restriction.

Garden volunteers are asked to bring their own tools, gloves, refreshments and own disinfectant gel and observer social distancing guidelines and meet at the historic building at 9am.

Bournemouth Echo:

Organizer Revd Chris Colledge said: “This coming Saturday we will be continuing the ongoing care of Skerryvore, which is part of our local history with it being the place of residence where Robert Louis Stevenson once resided.

“On Saturday we will be planting out the raised flower bed areas that have been erected on each side of the path which leads to the Lighthouse, and also having a general tidy up of the whole area.”
