THE sign above the door, or the counter to be more accurate, says it all.

Everyone smiles in the same language.

"It really resonates with our customers," says owner of the Club Hub, Michelle Bartlett. "And of course it is so true."

Club Hub on the Civic Centre roundabout in Poole is the latest addition to the conurbation's booming coffee shop culture.

The coffee shop was previously Daveena's, but businesswoman Michelle recently took on the lease, organised a complete makeover and opened on May 17 with a bright new look and in just a weeks of deciding to take the plunge.

There's the main shop itself and a narrow covered courtyard leading to the rear outside decking area.

But look a little deeper and it is clear that Club Hub is quite a lot more than a coffee venue.

It is a meeting and events hub for a myriad of community groups.

The business concept doesn't end there. Upstairs there is a boardroom style meeting room for hire seating eight and a co-working room available for various time slots.

With plenty of new development going on nearby and many people working from home more often, it looks to be a sound business plan.

And of course the catering and refreshments for anyone using the business suite facilities are on tap.

Michelle said: "I had been thinking about this multi-faceted approach for a while and post pandemic I wanted to find somewhere.

"Then Daveena’s came up and we went for it, thanks to help from my solicitor, Dan Stanton of Rawlings Davy. I have taken on ten staff and we have an absolutely brilliant team serving great local food and drink including our own cakes baked on the premises and a unique Dorset blend of Quirky Coffee.

"My parents owned a guest house so hospitality is in my blood."

Michelle founded the Live, Laugh, Love Ladies Club franchise eight years ago but things 'fell off a cliff' in the pandemic, like so much else.

"This a different type of business and with everything that gone on the past years and with so much changing around us socially and commercially, I really feel this concept is very much of the moment. We will see where it goes."
