POLICE are urging the public to put their rubbish in the bin after coming across a strewn of litter next to a river in Blandford.
Officers found cider cans and beer bottles scattered under a viaduct next to the River Stour on the evening of May 28.
The police message comes as many people across Dorset prepare to enjoy the bank holiday weekend.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: "People have been enjoying the start of the bank holiday weekend down by the Stour River.
"All collected and recycled.
"Some people have no shame. Put rubbish in it's place, the bin."
