STOLEN catalytic converters have been returned to their owners following an arrest in Ferndown.

Officers from the Ferndown Neighbourhood Policing Team recovered seven converters yesterday.

Thieves have been targeting many areas of Dorset and the New Forest to steal the items.

They are made of valuable metal and are usually sold for scrap.

Catalytic converters control the emissions on vehicles and can be stolen in seconds.

Motorists have been advised not to park with two wheels on the pavement because it makes it easy for the thieves to get underneath and remove them.

A man has been arrested and questioned.
