ONLY TWO new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed across Dorset within the past 24 hours, according to the latest figures.

The latest government figures have revealed that two new cases were recorded across Dorset within the latest 24-hour period, up to 4pm on Sunday, May 23.

There were no new cases recorded in the BCP Council area, so the area's total since the start of the pandemic remains as 25,449.

The number of coronavirus cases over the latest rolling seven-day period, leading up to May 18, for BCP is 31 cases, with a case rate of 7.8 per 100,000 people.

There were two new cases recorded across the Dorset Council area during the same period. The total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic in this area now stands at 11,938.

The rolling seven-day period for Dorset is 18 cases with a case rate of 4.8 per 100,000 people.

Further afield in the New Forest, there have been fournew recorded cases of coronavirus, taking the total to 6,222.

The seven-day period for New Forest is 12, with a case rate of 6.7  per 100,000 people.
