I CAN’T think of anything positive resulting from the Covid virus, although I’ve been grateful for not having to endure being gripped by people who are little known to me, and sometimes those I would prefer to keep at arms length.

The thought that hugging is very soon to return fills me with dread.

Who are these people who feel a need to press their bodies against others and perform air kisses, close relatives who have been absent for months?

Not at all, they are more often than not vague acquaintances, or friends of friends that merit nothing more than a quick “hello”.

Fortunately for me I’m not the most huggable of people, and so its not often that I have to adopt a defensive stance against this unwelcome show of affection.
