THE ORGANISERS of the Mudeford Arts Festival have said they are optimistic that their festival will go ahead successfully this year.

Apart from last year, this popular weekend event festival has taken place on Mudeford Quay Green since 2007.

The Green has been booked for the free festival which will take place over the weekend of July 24 and July 25 from 11am to 5pm.

Festival Organiser, Tony Eden said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming back many of our stallholders and customers this year and we can promise an exciting weekend for everyone.

“We have a very enthusiastic and dedicated committee who are working hard to ensure that this will be a festival to remember.

“We will be working closely with BCP Council to ensure that we are meeting their requirements for a successful event.

“We have had so many restrictions placed on our lives over the last year due to the pandemic, but now that we can start to move around more freely, we are sure this event will prove to be very popular.”

Over 60 arts and craft stallholders, making and selling a wide range of artisanal goods, have already booked a pitch for the event.

In addition, there will be a demonstration marquee and a “wall of art” exhibition of work by local artists.

Stanpit Village Hall will also host their annual art competition in which visitors can choose the painting that they would like to see outside the hall over the next year.

The family event will have craft activities arranged by All Saints Church and games organised by local groups for young children.

A full programme of entertainment has been organised over the two days, with a range of hot and cold food will be available.

There will be a tombola which raises money for five charitable foundations. Over the last three years over £8,000 has been raised, to support various local and national charities.

Additional precautions will be put in place to ensure the government’s Covid restrictions are met as organisers follow the latest Government guidelines for outdoor events.
