VOLUNTEERS are needed to join the RNLI lifeboat team at Mudeford in Christchurch.

The team carries out around 60 rescues each year and is looking for new members between teh ages of 17 and 55 who live within five minutes of the Mudeford lifeboat station.

A spokesman said: "RNLI Mudeford is looking for volunteers to join the existing team in the role of Inshore Lifeboat Crew. We operate out of RNLI Mudeford boathouse on Mudeford Quay where we have been stationed since 1963.

"Joining our crew will help save lives at sea by ensuring that our lifeboat is in a state of permanent readiness and crewing the lifeboat on service and exercise, under the command of the Helm."

Anyone interested should be a team player and good communicator with good general fitness and the ability to learn new skills.
