POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was reportedly seen carrying a scaffold pole in Bournemouth.

At 1pm on Friday April 23, Dorset Police was called to reports of a burglary in The Triangle area of Commercial Road involving a man.

It is also alleged the man was in possession of a scaffold pole in the Triangle area of Commercial Road just before 1pm. 

Officers were called to attend the incident and a 37-year-old local man was arrested nearby on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Neil Causebrook, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please contact me. 

“A full investigation is underway and I am also asking for any motorists who were travelling along Commercial Road at 1pm on Friday April 23, and may have captured something on dashcam to please get in touch.”
