IT WOULD be extremely helpful if someone in authority could explain how we can possibly claim that educational standards are improving year on year, when it transpires that academics have now been told “not impose their own idea of correct English” on students, and to refrain from marking down work for poor spelling or bad grammar, because it is elitist.

This follows close upon the equally barmy advice to teachers that they should not use CAPITALS or exclamation marks, as to do so is now regarded as shouting at, or threatening, the poor thin-skinned little snowflakes they are supposedly educating.

It jus don’t make no cents too ME!

I despair.
