A CORDON has been in place at the Cemetery Junction area most of the afternoon – to allow emergency services to deal with a concern for welfare.

Dorset Police were called to the area just before 3pm on Thursday, April 8, and found a man in a dangerous position up a tree.

He was eventually brought down to safety after three hours.

A Dorset Police spokesman confirmed "Dorset Police received a report raising concern for the welfare of a man in Bournemouth.

"Officers attended with the fire and ambulance services and located the man in a dangerous position in a tree in the Cemetery Junction area.

"A cordon was put in place to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

"The man was brought to safety at around 6.15pm and is now receiving the appropriate care."
