A CCTV appeal has been issued after a Bournemouth man was arrested during a fight in Weymouth.

Brazilian nationals were subjected to racial abuse during the incident, which took place on Sunday April 4 in the area of Custom House Quay.

Police were called at 7.45pm and were told that a group of men in their 20s had been attacked by a larger group.

Two of the victims were hurt but it is not believed that their injuries are serious. They were taken to hospital for treatment.

An 18-year-old man from Weymouth was arrested on suspicion of racially or religiously aggravated wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm. A further three men – a 22-year-old from Bournemouth and two men aged 20 and 23 from the Dorchester area – were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray. All four have been released under investigation as officers continue to make enquiries.

Police Constable Ed Messinger, of Dorset Police, said: "We are continuing to investigate this matter and I am releasing an image of a further individual we would like to speak to as part of our enquiries.

"I would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us.

"I would also like to hear from any witnesses to the incident, including anybody who has filmed it on their mobile phone, who have not already spoken to police to please come forward."
