POLICE are hunting the occupants of a green Jaguar after a man was punched and hit in the face during a road rage incident in Bournemouth.

The victim was attacked by a passenger from the car after the driver accused him of "cutting him up" at the St Paul's roundabout.

The victim was driving eastbound on the A338 Wessex Way at around 11.30am on Saturday March 20 and as they approached the St Pauls Roundabout in the right-hand lane they became aware of a green Jaguar, possibly an X-Type or similar, in the middle lane.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "The victim turned right at the roundabout, as did the Jaguar. The driver of the Jaguar, which was behind the victim, began beeping its horn. The victim, a local man aged in his 20s, pulled over in a slip road by the Asda supermarket and the male driver of the Jaguar approached him and claimed the victim had cut him up.

"As the victim went to get back into his vehicle, a male passenger from the Jaguar came up to him and struck him to the back of the head before hitting him in the face."

The victim did not suffer any serious injuries as a result of the assault.

The passenger who assaulted him is described as white, aged in his mid 20s, around six feet tall and of medium build with dark hair.

The driver is described as white, aged around 50 years old, approximately six feet tall and of medium build with short grey hair.

Police Community Support Investigator Paul Bosley, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this assault and I would urge anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please contact us.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the driver of a white Dacia 4x4 vehicle who is reported to have stopped on the same side of the road and began to film the incident before asking the victim if they were all right.

“I would also urge anyone who may have been driving in the area at the relevant time and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything that might be of assistance.”
