A BOSCOMBE mum who was diagnosed with cancer last June has nearly beat the disease after trying alternative treatments alongside normal treatments thanks to a fundraiser.

Nadia Dafova, 47, assistant manager at Tricuro Care, was diagnosed with stage four melanoma cancer in June after finding a lump in February 2020.

While Nadia and her partner Robert Magrath, 46, were waiting for test results, the cancer spread to Nadia's brain and lungs.

After comprehending the gravity of the situation, the pair decided to dedicate their time to finding other effective cancer treatments and set up a gofundme page to cover the cost.

Since then, there has been a large improvement in Nadia's health.

Robert said: "With the help of a variety of doctors, Nadia has managed to have alternative therapies with modern medicine, and from this has had very positive results.

"Her last scan in February showed eight brain metastases, only five of which are active. She previously had 20.

"The cancer is now dying and we're trying to finish it off and push the dying cells out of Nadia's body as cancer can regenerate from dead cells.

"Our target is to get to a stage where there is no evidence of the disease left in her body, which would be bordering on miraculous considering her stage 4 diagnosis."

Nadia said: "Cancer can find ways to feed itself and it needs to be attacked from many angles. Traditional medicine neglects the metabolic approach and I want to raise awareness of the different types of cancer medicines.

"There are places in the world that have proved that alternative therapy works, but it is not used in UK."

The aim of the gofundme fundraiser is to help Nadia and Robert with the cost of treatment and supplements, which includes high dosage vitamin C, mistletoe therapy, pathway blockers and more.

This usually costs over a couple of thousand pounds each month.

Robert said: "We've nearly eradicated all of the cancer in Nadia's body apart from a few areas. The path we've taken has resulted in a dramatic response."
