AN INFANT has died after being found unresponsive at an address in Fairmile in Christchurch.
Emergency services were called to the property at 11.20am today.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Officers attended, along with the ambulance service. The infant was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where very sadly they were pronounced dead.
"There is nothing to indicate the death is suspicious. As with all cases involving a death in infancy, officers will be carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances.
"Our thoughts are with the family involved and we would ask their privacy is respected at this extremely difficult time."
Members of the public reported seeing numerous police vehicles, ambulances and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
