POLICE and coastguards were alerted to a person in difficulty in the sea near Bournemouth pier.
Southbourne Coastguards were called out by the national maritime operations centre just after 8.30pm last night.
Bizarre lockdown breaches reported over the last year
A lifeboat crew from Poole was also called to the scene.
When they arrived they discovered the person was safe and in the care of the police.
